Title: I found it ... Post by: grahame on November 29, 2015, 20:08:21 Can't believe I'm posting this ... same capacity, same timings, must be a nightmare to keep both th empower cars with the same rake of coaches. But I'll admit it looks smart.

I think you probably need to get out a bit more. ;) :D ;D Title: Re: I found it ... Post by: bobm on November 29, 2015, 20:26:54 I took, in my opinion, a near perfect picture of the same train in Swindon last week but decided not to post it as the leading power car had an added embellishment which I didn't notice initially. A dead pheasant hanging from the drawgear door! ???

Spent quite a lot of time chasing and riding behind the last steam that Summer.
Did the Preston loop on a Glasgow Blackpool train behind a Black Five. It's quite strange that 15 minutes after going South/East through Preston you are going through Preston again but in the other direction. Title: Re: I found it ... Spent quite a lot of time chasing and riding behind the last steam that Summer. I almost said I may have met you there, but now I recall correctly, I was there in 1966 (watched the cup final there, helps anchor the date) My uncle, with a little help from a new fisherman, got a couple of nice salmon that had found themselves stuck in pools as the tide went out. Pheasant would have gone down well too. Wasn't there recently a train pulled into Gatwick Airport station with an unfortunate deer stuck to the outside, which caught fire when it caught on the third rail?
