Title: January Fare Rises 2016
Post by: ChrisB on November 10, 2015, 14:15:20
Boris J has let it be known on BBC London news that TfL fares for this January are being announced this Thursday - don't ATOC usually coincide with TOC fares on the same day?

It was announced back in August what the regulated fare rise for England and Wales would be in January 2016. Government had already commited to rises of no more than RPI for this parliament. July's RPI figure was used, and that was 1%.

Rail fares to rise by 1% in January - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33968318

That's up to 1%.

Yes, I would agree that any TOC choosing not to use the full 1% is possibly crackers, but still....and what about any unregulated fares? Presumably they'll be announced as well.

That's up to 1%.

As I said, no more than RPI. The final line in my previous post is the BBC headline.
