With IEP now firmly on the way, how much money is likely to be spent on repairing major faults on HSTs? A power car cannot work without a gearbox, which sounds expensive. Will there be a diminishing supply of spare power cars in the run-up to the run-down of the HST fleet? Title: Re: HST Shortage ? Post by: John R on September 19, 2015, 10:18:35 They've still got at least a couple of years to go, and given the high availability that's needed to run the existing service, I don't think there is much choice but to repair.

Most components like gearboxes will more than likely be under warranty.
