Title: Southwest trains Group saver Post by: TaplowGreen on September 04, 2015, 16:59:41 .....off to Twickenham tomorrow for England v Ireland, travelling via Windsor and Eton Riverside, up to 80,000 expected so was pleasantly surprised to be able to purchase Groupsaver tickets for myself and pals on SWT.
Hopefully FGW will be as generous for major sporting/cultural events this season (especially Rugby World Cup!) as I know they have been a bit mean in the past and suspended the facility! Title: Re: Southwest trains Group saver Post by: IndustryInsider on September 04, 2015, 18:14:02 Indeed, the list of group save restrictions is rather, erm, dominated, by FGW!

Title: Re: Southwest trains Group saver Post by: JayMac on September 05, 2015, 12:30:24 Yep. All Rugby World Cup fixtures in places served by FGW/GWR are GroupSave barred.
Yet again it's only FGW/GWR doing this. Arriva Trains Wales aren't. London Midland aren't. Northern aren't. TransPennine Express aren't. Southern aren't. South West Trains aren't. But, as always, if you have to travel with FGW/GWR, there are ways around the FGW/GWR money grabbing restrictions. Going to Kingsholm? How about a ticket to Stonehouse or Chepstow where you have to change at Gloucester. Going to Sandy Park? GroupSave to Exmouth isn't barred. Penny pinching around one of the biggest sporting events on the planet - what a great advert for the brand.
