Long distance operator First Great Western have won a silver RoSPA occupational health & safety award for 2015! First Great Western will be presented the award at the Glasgow Hilton hotel in September 2015.

Paul Williams, head of First Great Western health and safety said "the RoSPA Silver Award promotes the importance of occupational health and safety. This win shows the tremendous work we have done to reduce workplace accidents; our commitment to training our staff; and to developing innovative solutions to maintaining and improve their safety".

Congratulations First Great Western!

Yes well done to FGW and all the staff involved but oh the irony that part of dispute with the RMT is on the grounds of a H&S issue.

i wouldn't really say it's particularly ironic. the rmt claim that every dispute is about safety because they think it will get the general public on side - oh, it's a safety issue, so they must be right!
