Title: Southbound diversions Post by: grahame on June 21, 2015, 06:52:13 11:45 Chippenham to Westbury due 12:10
This train will be delayed between Chippenham and Westbury and is expected to be 16 minutes late. This train will be diverted between Chippenham and Westbury. This train will call additionally at Bath Spa. This train will no longer call at Melksham. This is due to a member of train crew being unavailable. Looks like the TransWilts train is running a Westbury - Chippenham - Bath - Westbury circuit. Not a bad service / not a bad idea if there was a circuit of extra trains going the other way round! The 15:45, 17:45, 19:22 and 20:23 will now run, as booked, via Melksham. FGW have a chronic shortage of train crew today affecting services between London, Bristol and Cheltenham. Looking at the pattern of cancellations it seems to be Bristol based staff which are in most short supply. Some extra coaches being brought in to boost the remainder of the train service. The original diversion of TransWilts services looks like it was an additional attempt to plug the gap between Chippenham and Bath. Title: Re: Southbound diversions Post by: TaplowGreen on June 21, 2015, 08:34:27 17 cancellations already........sounds like it must have been some party last night!.....interestingly the FGW website is advertising "a good service on the FGW network"....these things are relative I guess.
