I am not sure how I could use the lift unless there is a call button on the right hand wall out of sight. Title: Re: Epic fails? Spot on the other position (http://www.wellho.net/pix/epicfaila.jpg) the floor below (http://www.wellho.net/pix/epicfailb.jpg) Title: Re: Epic fails? Post by: Chris from Nailsea on June 21, 2015, 19:34:19 Can you spot what's wrong with these? (http://www.wellho.net/pix/epicfail1.jpg) Reminds me of a dog-walking excursion around Burrator reservoir in Devon, with some friends, many years ago: we reached a point where someone had, rather inexplicably but very securely, padlocked a five-bar gate closed across the footpath. My companions were all rather confused by this, debating whether we should just turn round and walk back the way we had come. I merely walked to the other end of the gate, lifted it off its hinges, moved it aside to allow everyone (including our dogs) to walk through, then returned that end of the gate back onto its hinges. ;) :D ;D Title: Re: Epic fails? Post by: Chris from Nailsea on June 21, 2015, 21:19:40 Female readers of this topic may not (or indeed may) understand that observation - but I was thinking along the very same lines, Surrey 455. ::)

Title: Re: Epic fails? Post by: Red Squirrel on June 22, 2015, 10:11:01 Seem to remember there used to be a lift like that in Friedrichstra^e U-bahn station... it wasn't seen as a good move to try nipping in when someone got out.

So smart it will save you a fortune in toilet tissue costs but leave your customers in a state of poor bodily hygiene... (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/IPNMw5AV2HPy5Y7Gy8yX90hTXe33V99soUK98PafnZKn=w394-h699-no) ...and to think people call me mad for carrying an emergency packet of tissues ::) Title: Re: Epic fails? Post by: IndustryInsider on June 22, 2015, 11:24:30 It may well not have been the case in the example above, but you do get quite a lot of gates that on a quick inspection appear locked, but they are actually just dummy locks designed to make people think they're locked when they're actually not. It does actually deter many of those who shouldn't gain access if you have a gate with shared access that it's impractical to provide a key to every regular user.

Title: Re: Epic fails? Post by: chuffed on June 22, 2015, 19:21:30 On Points West tonight, there was a report on the consultation that opened today on the re-opening of the Portishead line, and more particularly, the site of the new Portishead station.
However whoever drew the accompanying map made a major blunder. The line from Portishead was shown as crossing the Avon just east of the M5 bridge, joining the Severn Beach line, with no sign of the freight line through the Avon Gorge and into Royal Portbury Dock, whatsoever ! I hope someone has told the Department of Transport....... ::) ::) ::) Title: Re: Epic fails? Post by: chuffed on June 23, 2015, 15:22:43 Update
The Editor of Points west has been in touch to say, that he expected better of his team and that steps would be taken to ensure this map is never seen again ! Title: Re: Epic fails? Post by: PhilWakely on June 23, 2015, 17:11:38 I've posted this before in another thread, but it deserves a showing here :)

Post by: Chris from Nailsea on June 23, 2015, 23:11:38 Update The Editor of Points west has been in touch to say, that he expected better of his team and that steps would be taken to ensure this map is never seen again ! His team will be taken out into the staff car park and one of them - chosen at random - will be birched (to encourage the others). ;D I've posted this before in another thread, but it deserves a showing here :) That's an epic fail on the signage front! ::) Title: Re: Epic fails?
