Title: Signal box with a view
Post by: Palfers on June 07, 2015, 21:24:06
I have to say whilst waiting for the sleeper at pz I was admiring the view out in to the bay on this lovely evening and come to the conclusion that the signal box is one with a fantastic view out over the bay or can any one come up with a box with a better view??

No, sorry, Palfers: I was being somewhat ironic, in referring to the late lamented Dawlish signalbox.

See http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=12467.0  :(

I imagine the box controlling Reedham Swing Bridge in Norfolk has quite a good view.

And is scheduled to be the last mechanical signal box on the national network in the land, as I recall

I think crediton is a lovely looking box quite a small box I have to say wonder how long that one will still be around for. One remote box I can think of is goon barrow I don't think the signal man has that much work to do there
