Title: Still doing the Bath dogleg ...
Post by: grahame on June 04, 2015, 15:34:51
Headed from Swindon to Westbury this afternoon and having hit the 150 minute gap ... so I've travelled (sshh!) via Bath Spa.

As a matter of interest, I did a quick count of how many people got off the train ex London (13:55 from Swindon) and went under and up for the Portsmouth train - it was about 10.  It's twice an hour, so that's around 20 people per hour "doglegging"

People making this change won't entirely be people who would do better on the TransWilts - journeys like Paddington to Bradford-on-Avon are "via Bath" naturals and would remain so even if TransWilts was as frequent as London - Bristol.
