Title: Rail Chronology
Post by: grahame on April 06, 2015, 09:01:18
Not sure where to post this - fascinating site found while browsing:

http://www.railchronology.free-online.co.uk

Mostly out of area, but includes "Temporary rail replacement service between Bideford and Torrington in consequence of Bideford road bridge collapse - January 1968" - a restored service for 10 days on a line closed to passengers 2 years earlier.   Also the Maindee curve in Newport - http://www.railchronology.free-online.co.uk/Maindee%20curve.htm - used by services such as Manchester to Waterloo.
