Train services in to and out of Bristol were brought to a standstill this morning after a person was struck by a train. According to reports, the person was hit by a train at Filton Abbey Wood with services travelling through the station disrupted for around an hour. A First Great Western spokesman told The Bristol Post that the line was closed from 9am until shortly before 10am, however that there was no further information available at this time. Shortly after the incident, CrossCountry trains sent out a tweet alerting passengers to that services would be affected by delays and alterations. It said: "Owing to a person being struck by a train at #FiltonAbbeyWood services to/from Bristol are subject to delays and alterations."
