Title: Group travel from Thatcham to Bedwyn Post by: BerkshireBugsy on March 14, 2015, 10:18:40 On Saturday 21st March we will be taking a group of 13 beaver Cubs with 5 adult leaders on the train from Thatcham to Bedwyn. We were hoping that we could get the kids for a quid each but that doesn't seem to be an option
They are walking back from Bedwyn to Thatcham (Saturday overnight stop in Kintbury) Any suggestions on the cheapest way of doing this ? Thanks bB Title: Re: Group travel from Thatcham to Bedwyn Post by: PhilWakely on March 14, 2015, 12:54:13 Whenever I take our Cubs and/or Beavers on the train, it is either persuading parents with Friends and Family Railcards to come along or I just contact the FGW Group Travel people. I don't think I've recently managed to get 'kids for a quid', but the best I've managed on the group travel option is one free adult with every six children and I've never got the same 'deal' twice. I guess it will also depend on likely availability of seats as well.

Most of my Scout Group's rail travel is local (e.g Pinhoe to Exmouth or Dawlish Warren), but we have ventured as far as London (once) and Bath (twice) in recent years.
