Title: Need help on what to do Post by: basset44 on January 30, 2015, 19:35:33 Hi All,
This might seem petty but I believe that if I do nothing then lesson will never be learnt. Would like your thoughts. On Thursday I had an advance ticket from Cardiff to Liverpool South Parkway on the 17.50 from Cardiff Central. Uneventful to Crewe it arrived 5 mins late thought I was going to miss my cigarette break! The 20.33 Crewe to Liverpool SP was showing leaving at 20.51, went outside for break, at about 20.40 it crept up a couple of minutes. It then changed to first stop Liverpool, I approached a despatcher on the platfom seeing off the Holyhead service and asked if it was better to get on the train when it arrived and come back out to Parkway. I was clearly told to wait for the 21.33 , it would be the quickest. Now thanks to reading forums like this I know different. I thought Liverpool Street is closer to Liverpool S P than Crewe. The London Midland train came in on platform 6 at 20.55 and ran non stop to Liverpool , I asked the guard before I boarded if it was okay to use my advance ticket all the way, and he said yes into the journey I enquired if there was a train back to Parkway and the very train I was on was returning straight away, so I stayed on. I arrived Liverpool SP at about 21.50 . There were lots of people trying to get of at every station that the automatic announcements made which made passengers amused . If I do complain where should I start, there was 3 companies involved 4 if you count the ticket seller Hope this makes sense Basset If I had stayed has advised I would have arrived according to the screen showing at about 22.09. Some might say what am I complaining about, This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
