Quote
CCTV footage at the crossing, which was played to the jury, captured Austin^s Mercedes Sprinter van coming around the bend on the wrong side of the road and stopping close to the rail track, forcing the Arriva train to pull up sharply.

Bl**dy Mercedes Sprinter drivers - think everyone has to get out of their way.   ;D

I'm just shocked that the train driver didn't simply swerve to avoid the van.  :o ::) ;D

A relatively firm sentence there. One year ban and a six month tagged curfew. I note that the sentence was passed in Crown Court. No mention as to whether the offence was deemed serious enough by magistrates for indictment to Crown Court, or whether the defendant elected for trial by jury.
