Title: Thatcham to Paddington using Chiltern? Post by: BerkshireBugsy on December 06, 2014, 16:40:38 I have the dubious task for getting from Thatcham to London City Airport tomorrow. I have to be honest I'm dreading it partly because I believe there are replacement buses between Thatcham and Reading but also because of the disruption due to signal problems between the Reading to Paddington route.
On looking at the NR website it said that tickets would be accepted (amongst other TOCs) on Chiltern and this got me thinking.. If I was to use Chiltern railways I guess that would take me into marlybone but from where ? Would I have to go to Oxford and then across via one of the Bicester stations? Just curious...I can't stand the Waterloo service from Reading :( Title: Re: Thatcham to Paddington using Chiltern? Post by: coachflyer on December 06, 2014, 17:08:02 Why not go via Basingstoke?
Trains run from Mortimer after 12 plus when you arrive at Waterloo its straight onto the Jubilee Line and a change a Canning Town to the DLR. Title: Re: Thatcham to Paddington using Chiltern? I guess if I was going to be delayed I fancy going on a part of the network I hadn't used before but thanks for replying.
