Conversion of the first composite Mk 3 for First Great Western begins next month, the operator has told RAIL.FGW Engineering Director Andy Mellors said the first Trailer First to be converted into a TC should leave Laira depot next month. The work will be carried out by Wabtec Rail Kilmarnock, and the vehicle should be in traffic at the end of January. He told RAIL: ^The first vehicle is currently intended to be 41179 which will become 46015 - but that could change. ^With recent FGW Mk 3 conversions, the stock is numbered 42501-42520 standard class converted buffets (single toilet), 42551-42583 standard class converted first class vehicles (single toilet) and 46001-46018 composite vehicles (single toilet)
