Title: Re: A very traditions "where is this?" Post by: Timmer on October 07, 2014, 20:42:09 I was thinking there just had to be a picture of Taunton and there was, the first one. Indeed a very traditional "where is this" which wouldn't have been the same without a picture of Taunton station.

Doesn't look used - formerly an announcer's eerie? Title: Re: A very traditions "where is this?" Post by: readytostart on October 08, 2014, 07:11:57 5.
Scarborough, the clue being the longest station bench in the country (or world, I forget which!). Title: Re: A very traditions "where is this?" Post by: grahame on October 08, 2014, 07:26:31 5. Scarborough, the clue being the longest station bench in the country (or world, I forget which!). It is Scarborough, yes. Different sources say it's the longest in the "country", "Europe" or "World" ... judging by its location on what I suspect is purely an excursion platform, I suspect that the proportion of time that anyone is sat on it is pretty low these days ... Title: Re: A very traditional "where is this?" Post by: grahame on October 08, 2014, 11:21:03 7 Stalybridge Sorry - no. I suspect (judging by the guess I've seen such as this) that there might be a whole genre of stations like this, so it may be that rather a lot of places end up being suggested before the right one! Title: Re: A very traditional "where is this?" Post by: JayMac on October 09, 2014, 21:05:50 I forgot that time was up.

Which platform is that one on - northbound or southbound?Title: Re: A very traditional "where is this?" Post by: grahame on October 10, 2014, 07:55:18 7. Lancaster. Post by: Worcester_Passenger on October 10, 2014, 09:16:15 I must go and have a look next time I'm near there - though any changes that I make always seem to involve the northbound platform.

Unlike Platform 9^ at KGX, all that's on the other side of that wall at Taunton is the roof of the booking office. :P It would appear that, judging by the increase in trolleys, when I was last in Taunton, many more people have tried to find a secret portal to a magical place.
