Title: Announcements
Post by: Oberon on August 27, 2014, 19:57:33
I wonder if the message that too many public announcements of the health & safety variety tend to cancel themselves out has at last got through to FGW? Hopefully it has because on a journey starting at Kemble and ending at Reading today, with a couple of hours at Didcot on the way home, it soon became noticeable how quiet those stations were compared to previous experiences. I think it would be wonderful if they ended altogether. In Germany or Switzerland you are never, as a fare paying passenger, subjected to such twaddle. And the trains run on time and are probably just as safe as ours.
