Looking at Realtime trains I suspect the incident happened with the 7.00 departure from Paddington to Bristol Temple meads as that was last reported at Slough West at 7.13am

Not a nice start to anyone's day and as usual our thoughts are with anyone affected by this.

The 7.08 was 'fully formed' today with 2.5 First Class, and a bright and helpful train manager. Extra trolley runs have been made.

Yes, the incident was on the down line and the time would match your prediction.

Just to add that Slough station is currently closed, so relief line trains are not stopping there.  Main lines still shut and will be for a little while yet whilst scene is cleared.

I know it's trivial compared to the issues that the people sorting this out are dealing with and the family and friends of the person involved, but it might delay quite a few people getting their A level results this morning if they usually travel to their school by train and were intending to today.

We're moving again. Quietest I've ever seen slough as we trundled through.

I've just taken a quick look at RealTime Trains, at the current time (11.30) there seems to be huge delays for trains approaching PAD with almost all taking 30-40 minutes from Ealing Broadway. That includes HEx which initially wasn't of course affected by the incident at Slough. Is this a new problem or just residual (but seemingly very serious) congestion?

EDIT: Just seen a Tweet from someone I follow who's on the 08.26 from Worcester FS which is at a stand at Southall and has been advised by the TM of a likely further 40-minute delay into PAD.

Further delays due to fire alarms at PAD sounding and a resulting evacuation.

It was the 0700 ex pad that was involved. Looking at CCF major congestion at PAD, with no platforms at all available and services stacking.

oh bother, I need to be in Oxford this evening BY 1800. Looks like leaving at least an hour earlier than timetable I reckon, with no guarantee of a seat. Might go via BAN.

Looking at journey check a number of services are terminating/starting at Reading, and a couple are starting at Bristol Temple Meads
