Title: Unusual lost propery in Melksham
Post by: bobm on April 16, 2014, 20:55:48
Was on the platform at Melksham awaiting the 19:47 to Swindon last night when I noted something on the bench

On closer examination, it turned out to be a pair of suit trousers

Unfortunately there was no-one to hand them in to - but one wonders how the owner got home without noticing they were missing them.... ;D

I wonder: Could it be part of a modern-day re-enactment of Operation Cerulean Trouser?

Did you note the waist and inside leg measurements bobm? I could do with a pair of black trousers.  :P

They were there this morning but had gone by this evening.

Indeed. It's usually female's clothes that are left at Melksham Station. We've had several instances.

I suspect this is quite common - people open their suitcase / pack to get something out at the station, and drop an article of clothing.

Haha. Didn't notice the glove first time I looked at the pic.  ;D

That's the innocent explanation. Many other reasons for attire to be abandoned...  :P
