From the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-26912418):

Bristol bus locater app downloaded by 31,000 in a year

A bus checker app has been downloaded by more than 31,000 people in a year, according to Bristol City Council.

The free app tells passengers when buses are due to arrive at bus stops in Bristol and the west of England and where they are going.

Originally developed for the London Olympics, the council approached developers to create a West version.

A council spokesman said the app had received five-star reviews on download sites and cut waiting time at stops.

Please also check the Windows Phone store for this app :)

The annoying aspect is that it seems to display both timetabled times AND live departures ...

Hello and welcome gogogoadam!

Interested to know why you find that aspect annoying - to my mind it is one of the best things about the app; the live times are clearly indicated (at least, they are on the android version) and so you can easily see what is actually coming your way together with what is planned but unconfirmed.

I presume gogogoadam means the one I linked to above, which is the Travelwest one (and covers all operators) as opposed to the First Group one.

I use Nextbuses https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/nextbuses/id362006676?mt=8 (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/nextbuses/id362006676?mt=8) which is countrywide and has real times for stops where available or in the absence of that timetabled arrivals.

I use the Travelwest app when taking the bus. It contains lots of information, and some of it is reasonably accurate.
