Title: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: John R on March 22, 2014, 11:26:04 http://firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Offers/greater-west-test
I wonder what's coming? Title: Re: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: bobm on March 22, 2014, 11:37:48 Could it be
Quote We will be doing a number of things to celebrate the opening of the Dawlish line and supporting the return of rail services to and from Devon and Cornwall. Mentioned in the news release to discount rumours that Tornado was making an appearance on the Night Riviera. "Building a Greater West Launching Monday 24 March" - http://firstgreatwestern.co.uk/About-Us/building-a-greater-west and "The greatest investment since Brunel" - http://firstgreatwestern.co.uk/About-Us/GreaterWest Title: Re: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: broadgage on March 23, 2014, 09:19:56 My natural cynicism leads me to suspect that that nothing much is planned beyond things already announced.
I suspect that the "greatest investment since Brunel" will consist of the already announced electrification, possibly with slight extensions to the already planned work, and the already announced new trains, perhaps with a few more full length ones. Oh and rebuilding the sea wall at Dawlish. Title: Re: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: Lee on March 23, 2014, 09:50:57 Do you think they will include an announcement on a 5 year GW direct award, or are we too early in the process for that?

"Building a Greater West Launching Monday 24 March" - http://firstgreatwestern.co.uk/About-Us/building-a-greater-west well, it's the 24th and.....nothing! Do you think they will include an announcement on a 5 year GW direct award, or are we too early in the process for that? Far too early! Title: Re: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: stuving on March 24, 2014, 10:10:45 Well, there is a "greater-west" page (http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/About-Us/greater-west) - but it appears to be scored for solo DIY trumpet, and not to contain any kind of "offer".
Title: Re: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: ChrisB on March 24, 2014, 10:15:18 Oh, that's just gone live - it wasn't there when I posted....
Title: Re: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: Lee on March 24, 2014, 10:26:24 I notice that it has an "over the next five years" section...
EDIT to separate this topic from others elsewhere, primarily this one (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=13758.0) and this one. (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=13765.0) Title: Re: Curious web page under "Offers" Post by: Lee on March 25, 2014, 12:35:04 The page has been simplified somewhat, I notice, with much of the detail taken out...However, a very prompt response from FGW via Twitter indicates that new services originally listed are going ahead.
