Title: Balloon vs Huntingdon
Post by: Jason on February 07, 2014, 20:03:40
It appears that the east coast mainline has been almost completely down for much of the afternoon and all evening due to a foil balloon interaction with the overhead wires at Huntingdon.

I had a quick read of a technical update sheet at KGX that was laying around and it seemed to be pointing to a non-trivial fix due to problems with some of the downwires (?)

I was directed to travel via St Pancras and Sheffield or Euston and Manchester to get to Leeds due to the extent of the problem and only now are things opening up again.
