Title: Cardiff to Southport without reversal - how many routes? Post by: eightf48544 on February 02, 2014, 11:26:05 SouthPort now there's an interesting destination how many through routes without reversal are there from Cardiff to Southport?
Something for bignosemac's Xmas prize quiz? It will take me that long to work it out. Presuambly there will have to be somerules: No-where further South than Bristol or East of Bristol - Birmingham. Sorry Graham rules out via Melksham which is on a viable route from Cardiff to Birmingham. I would like to allow Hull just for fun! But I think once at Birmingham then nowhere East of the West Coast mainline or North of Wigan. Also no doubling back so Shrewsbury to Birmingham is out. Which cuts down the number quite considerably I reckon that's it's over 30 I've got 13 to Birmingham NS just going East from Cardiff! Please feel free to move into the lighter side! Apolgies for warped sense of humour Title: Re: Cardiff to Southport without reversal - how many routes? As you suggested, I've moved it here, and we'll see how many routes our members can suggest! ;) Title: Re: Cardiff to Southport without reversal - how many routes? Post by: grahame on February 02, 2014, 13:25:50 Presumably we can sort of summaries "as allowed by routing guide". And do we mean 'route for through excursion', or can we cross under the Mersey and change at Moorfields?
