Title: Taplow's Station Road to remain closed due to flooding under railway bridge Post by: Chris from Nailsea on January 10, 2014, 20:34:35 From the Maidenhead Advertiser (http://www.maidenhead-advertiser.co.uk/News/Areas/Taplow/Station-Road-to-remain-closed-under-railway-bridge-09012014.htm?):
Quote Station Road to remain closed under railway bridge The road under the railway bridge in Station Road in Taplow will remain closed until the water underneath has dried up. A statement from Transport for Bucks said: "Station Road is a known flooding site and unfortunately following the recent heavy rain this area has flooded. The forecast for Buckinghamshire is for little rain to fall over the next few days, so hopefully this site, along with others around the county, will subside quickly. Unfortunately, we are unable to do anything to expedite this situation." Otherwise it's a long walk round.

Otherwise it's a long walk round. Indeed! Luckily there are no ticket barriers because Taplow is only manned for a few hours each weekday! The whole area is prone to this and puddles the size of Lake Superior on nearby Institute Road! (....slight exaggeration there!!!) :D Title: Re: Taplow's Station Road to remain closed due to flooding under railway bridge Post by: eightf48544 on January 11, 2014, 16:18:27 There are even bigger puddles on the A4 between the Dumb Bell and Sainsbury's. You would be drowned if you were caught by a speeding car!

You would be drowned if you were caught by a speeding car! Could be worse my brother lives in Wraysbury and has 3 feet of water in this kitchen!! The village is only accessible by boat at the moment. They've been cut off for over a week.

Can't he magic the water away? :P This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
