Title: A special 'Parcels' service to run on 24/12/2013. Last stop Frome. Post by: JayMac on December 15, 2013, 22:41:19 Noticed this (via Facebook) on Realtime Trains:
http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/S73184/2013/12/24/advanced I like the consist. ;D Title: Re: A special 'Parcels' service to run on 24/12/2013. Last stop Frome. Post by: JayMac on December 15, 2013, 22:50:17 Even calling at Pilning!

Teleports from Kingham to Fishguard Harbour and then to Newcastle Airport. Any chance of attaching some mrk3s behind and using the consist in regular service? No need for HS2 then since they seem able to arrive before they leave, a journey time saving so massive the result is a negative journey time! ;DTitle: Re: A special 'Parcels' service to run on 24/12/2013. The service gets you from North pole to anywhere (expect Fishguard and Goodwick) and back, but I'm not sure of intermediate physics. And I question whether there are any chldren (let alone any good children) at Barry Links. Title: Re: A special 'Parcels' service to run on 24/12/2013. Last stop Frome. Post by: JayMac on December 16, 2013, 14:44:48 An amusing post, regarding this service, from RailUK Forums:
Quote Caused a few problems last year. Apparently the Office of Reindeer Regulation had not granted the access rights, the Department for Tinsel said there was no access agreement and the sleigh was not covered by the safety case (out of gauge). Santa did not sign all the route as it was over six months since he last worked over it. He also failed a breath test. The Reindeer Santa Sleigh Bureau report makes damning reading. Post by: JayMac on December 16, 2013, 14:47:18 The service gets you from North pole to anywhere (expect Fishguard and Goodwick) It also appears that no-one has been good near Imperial Wharf. Not calling there either, just passing. Title: Re: A special 'Parcels' service to run on 24/12/2013. Last stop Frome. Elf and Reindeer Track Management for Santa - Surely at least Rudolf is fitted with that? Title: Re: A special 'Parcels' service to run on 24/12/2013. Last stop Frome. He's making a list, and checking it twice... http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/S73164/2014/12/24/advanced ;D I note it's not "Last Stop Frome" this year. Santa had problems last year with children born in early December who wrote in telling him they were 3, 4 or 5 but then (when he turned up) required presents for 4, 5 and 6 year olds. So all he had left when he got to Frome were very young presents, and the youth of Frome were less that please with getting rubber / plastic ducks which were thrown out - made homeless - on boxing day, all seen floating, wet and cold, on the River Frome.
