Title: Was 28th October a Void Day? Post by: NickB on November 14, 2013, 13:50:39 I'll give FGW its credit for running even a single train on 28th October (the big storm day a couple of weeks ago) but I really would have thought that this would count as a void day given the huge amount of disruption? Not according to the current performance stats which say that there have been no void days in 2013 (but only 75% punctuality on TV services) Who decides what is void and what isn't? Post by: bobm on November 14, 2013, 14:14:05 As I understand it the company chooses when to declare a day void which then means it must pay compensation to all season ticket holders etc (by way of discounts or extensions) but the day's figures are then removed from its performance statistics.
On the 28th it is true the eastern end was badly hit but the storm struck the west during the night and services were quickly up and running after the start of the day so maybe they have done the maths and worked out they are better off paying claims they do receive rather than a blanket declaration.
