What a wonderful selection ... makes me realise how little I know the UK rail network.   I probably wouldn't have got any if No. 3 hadn't clearly stated "Dorchester South" on it ... although my memories there are of reversal into a bay.

That was the only one I had a clue about! Haven't a clue about the rest.

I think that number 2 is Duddeston on the Birmingham to Lichfield/Walsall lines.  In my day, it was called Vauxhall and Duddeston and looked completely different.

Number 23 is almost certainly Bristol Temple Meads ;)

I thought initially that flyingscotsman had got hold of my picture - but on checking I see that mine was from a slightly different angle!

Looks like a few more have gone than I thought.

I can assure Bignosemac it wasnt the same picture - the girlfriend was lurking in the back ground before she got her hands on it and cropped herself out

Is 13 Settle?

11 is, I suspect in Scotland. The wooden choo-choo has been seen at Montrose, but not sure if it's Montrose in the picture.

I fear the forum membership may require clues for others. And you say the next batch are harder?!

Well ... we would expect lots of Scotand from FlyingScotsman.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to have a different type of quiz next rather than straight into a second batch? I find these "where is this" quizzes wonderful fun, (so many THANK YOUs for this one!) and they work really well with a breathing space for something else between. I know that BigNoseMac has something different coming up - shall we go for that next, then the next batch from FlyingScotsman's travels of which I'm slightly envious  ;) .

The Wooden Train is in Scotland, but it is not Montrose...sorry Bignosemac.................just widen your thoughts and let the air clear out those cobwebs!!!!!!!

It looks so like stations as far as Hayes on the GWML. If it's not Southall then it's anywhere on the ex NSE 25Kv network as the stop mark has NSE flashes.!

So I have had some guesses at picture number 15, sorry to you both, The Trout & Eightf48544 you are wrong.... Yes is was in a former Network Southeast area.......

I think I will have to give a slight clue to this one...it is quite hard......

Clue 1. It is a type of weather that falls from the sky, that is the second part of the name....and they used to say ".... Caesar" as he walked past.
           The first name could be liked to A.V.B. so come on you railway sports fans...where is it......?

Now this station in Scotland picture number 21...well Graham.....yes it does start with a P and it ends in N......but not this one...sorry

So a clue....... well clue one... it has two words in the title, so it is P........ ...N      and the last word is not a city,    it is a ...n

Clue:                 It can rhyme with Moose Loose & Hoose.......a saying from the tv
                        Moose Loose Hoose!!!!!!!!! Now the first letter does not appear in these three words!!!! ::)

Picture No.17      Is on the same line as No.7   But what line is No.7 on I hear you ask ???

Picture No.11      Seems to be taking the wind out of some people.......so let the air go through your mind and you may come out with a
                       clear head and you will be able to answer ::)

I'll confess - that is where I saw it!   ;D

Well ... flyingscotsman has already said no to that. And it turns out that these planters are a standard product of a little company on Deveronside http://www.barrelcreations.co.uk/trains.htm (http://www.barrelcreations.co.uk/trains.htm) (concidentally only a few miles from where my Dad's family came from 200 years ago).

Scotrail have been recruiting sponsors to buy them (^480 a train with two wagons) and volunteers to tend the plants, so they have gone into lots of stations - starting with Inverurie and spreading across Scotland. All of which is not a lot of help in identifying this picture!

I am so so sorry to inform you that it is not Pollockshaws West..........Nor is it Montrose.

Stuving is correct, there are some dotted around the Scotrail network.


I have given some clues to where it might be....so read through my clues again.......

So we have now established it is in Scotland........

Finally got it - 11. Ayr

Googlemaps was my friend on this one. The flower beds in the background on platform 1 clinched it! That and the air clue....

Well at the close of my quiz, I found that some people got the stations right away, some had to wait for further clues..and yes there was one or two people who used "GOOGLE"...your best friend....
