Title: The mystery of the 17:57 SuO from Paddington to Penzance
Post by: bobm on September 22, 2013, 20:32:05
Is it supposed to call at Bristol Temple Meads or not?

The train runs for the next few weeks and is supposed to call at Bristol for nine minutes to change drivers.

Last week the doors remained locked. Today they were released. The only snag is the screens showed the next train as the 20:00 to Paddington. Despite several on board announcements I gather some people wanting Bath or stations to the east were taken to Taunton.

None of the screens prior to Bristol show it calling there, neither does the Journeyplanner. However the staff diagram does.

I wonder what will happen next week?

Looking in Genius the call at Bristol TM is showing in italics for both arrival and departure meaning it is a call for operational reasons only and not to pick up or set down passengers.

It may be that crew have been instructed to release doors and then to despatch in the usual manner to save having doors on the catch etc or that they were released so that catering supplies could be loaded on.
