Title: Thames Valley ranger tickets Post by: johngreg on September 05, 2013, 13:06:32 - Can I buy one of these tickets from a non FGW station?
- If so is there a particular code to give? - Should I be able to get it on a self service machine? Cheers John Title: Re: Thames Valley ranger tickets Post by: ChrisB on September 05, 2013, 14:12:15 Definitely not from a TVM, just like any rover.
Think it has to be got from a FGW-served station at least, but please tell me I'm wrong! Title: Re: Thames Valley ranger tickets Post by: paul7575 on September 05, 2013, 14:16:38 You are wrong... ;D
Thames Rover is available at a number of stations served only by SWT, eg between Reading and Wokingham. They should be familiar with it at any station on it's validity map, such as at Banbury (Chiltern). (BTW, according to the NR rovers and rangers pages, the tickets in the relevant area are known as Thames Rover (3 day or 7 day), and the Thames Branches Day Ranger - the latter would clearly be an 'FGW only' product.) There's a fairly long lead time. I think you need to order them at least a week in advance.

Can buy less than 7 days ahead - send Special Delivery for ^6 extra Title: Re: Thames Valley ranger tickets Post by: johngreg on September 09, 2013, 11:44:12 If I go to my local SWT station and try asking for the 1 day Thames Rover ticket, is there a ticket machine code I can give the staff that will speed up the process?
Can on train staff issue this ticket? I understand that the self service ticket machines are different again to those used by the staff on train? Cheers John Title: Re: Thames Valley ranger tickets Post by: JonG on September 17, 2013, 12:28:34 John,
