Title: Extra train to Swansea on 23 Aug 13 Post by: bobm on August 15, 2013, 20:21:39 It seems FGW are expecting a large number of people to head for Wales on the Bank Holiday weekend.
As well as the usual 19:15 from Paddington to Swansea there is an extra service to Swansea leaving just three minutes in front of it at 19:12. I have seen additional services at holiday times before, especially to the West Country, but I don't think they have been timed this close together - well not in modern times! Title: Re: Extra train to Swansea on 23 Aug 13 Post by: Brucey on August 15, 2013, 20:55:08 Both services are booked to run from Platform 5. Yet the train forming the 19:15 normally arrives at 18:44 (it is the 17:00 from Bristol Temple Meads). I'm guessing there will be a last minute platform alteration.
The 19:12 is also running non-stop to Bristol Parkway, offering a considerably shorter journey time than the 19:15. However, an additional stop has been added to the 19:15 at Didcot Parkway, increasing the journey time by 21 minutes compared to normal.
