Although Melksham is the fourth largest town in Wiltshire (pop 24,000), rail traffic on the TransWilts line - now or with a more appropriate service in the future - will very largely be through journeys. The TransWilts halves the public transport time between Chippenham and Trowbridge, both of which are bigger than Melksham, for example, and it provides extra ad more direct Westbury and Trowbridge to London connections than the "via Bath" route. But this brochure is intended for Melksham circulation, so is aimed towards that customer base.
