Title: How about this then
Post by: devon_metro on December 20, 2007, 12:46:18
I've totally reworked the TT that I produced the other day. Trains should not clash between Chippenham and Swindon and London connections are in place(based on May 2007 TT as I do not have a new book A), Although there may still be clashes around Westbury

Here is the link, also improved as you don't need Excel to view it  ;D

Any comments from you Melksham folk?

Thanks Liam. We'll put this in with the other options we are currently looking at.

Bear in mind it hasn't been checked to avoid any clashes with other routes.

Got a feeling a London - Bristol train leave Swindon on the hour.

Liam .... we're having a major look at various options over the next few weeks / case review, etc .... and you'll see a bit more publicity in the New Year.

We have moved from just "we can't run a train just because you want us to", stated by Derek Twigg  who was Transport Minister two years ago (which is a perfectly correct statement - a train can't be justified for one person, but he wasn't actually answering the TransWilts case)  to "there is a good business case and everyone acknowledges that" now.

Some experts who know far more than I do in the general sense have, if anything, come to the conclusion than the ideal service is about two or three times the trains that we're actually asking for, and there is a huge raft of options to be look at. But actually there isn't the money / resources to provide an ideal service for everyone so we continue to push for something that is decent and useable rather than the current indecency of a couple of trains during the hours of darkness when everyone's still tucked up in bed, or already home watching the tele (or on Facbook, perhaps)
