Title: The Creative Common, Temple Quay, Bristol. Post by: JayMac on June 26, 2013, 19:29:33 From the side exit at Bristol Temple Meads and heading toward the Wetherspoons and ferry landing stage, there has, until recently, been a patch of undeveloped land on your right hand side that has been used as a car park and a pitch for various temporary attractions. Other parts of this patch of land had been fenced off for some time.
The land was earmarked for various building developments but these have fallen by the wayside due to the current economic climate. So, a longer term, but still temporary, use has been found for this patch of land. It's been called the Creative Common (http://www.creativecommon.co.uk/welcome/), and it recently hosted the 'NoFit State Circus'. That touring show has moved on, and in it's place for at least the next nine months are two pop-up venues - a cafe/bar and a pub. Cafes and pubs aren't creative in and of themselves, but these two are slightly unusual. The cafe/bar is in a gurt yurt, and is called 'Yurt Lush'. The pub is in two converted shipping containers and is called 'The Goods Yard'. A third shipping container provides the toilets and these are signposted as 'The Temple of Convenience'. :D Something different I suppose and a pleasant change to the adjacent Wetherspoons. Particularly when sitting outside in the sun as my girlfriend and I did this afternoon. Of the two, and if you only want a drink, I'd recommend the pub over the cafe/bar. In the cafe/bar we bought two drinks, a 125ml glass of house rose wine and a 330ml bottle of beer. ^8.40! :o Prices in the pub were much more reasonable.
