Title: Security Post by: welshman on June 04, 2013, 19:13:44 I saw something this morning on an ATW Valley Lines service which I haven't seen, or maybe haven't noticed, before.
I was on a Pacer and the guard/conductor/train manager/whatever he's called this week opened the doors from the front of the front car. He did this at two successive stations. Nothing unusual in that. What took my attention was that on each occasion he locked the door leading to the driver's cab before the train stopped and unlocked it after the train restarted. Is this some new security measure or am I just not very observant? Title: Re: Security Post by: JayMac on June 04, 2013, 19:24:27 I don't think he's locking and unlocking the cab door. Merely 'keying in' and 'keying out' the door controls. On Class 142s there is a 'Door Key Switch' (DKS) fitted to the bulkhead between cab and saloon.
