A prize quiz running through until the end of June. Free to enter. Please read the rules carefully before submitting your entry.

There are 18 locations to identify with a bias toward First Great Western served locations, although there are others from across the UK.

In addition, there are 7 semi-cryptic sequence picture clues to the names of National Rail stations across the UK, similar to those I posted a few weeks back (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=12394.0).

You'll not be able to retire on the prizes but please do enter. There's a hardcover railway book* and ^10 book token as a first prize, with two runners-up prizes of ^5 book tokens.

The Prize Picture Quiz will run through the month of June with a closing date of 11:59pm Sunday 30th June 2013 with the winner and runners-up being announced on or after 2nd July 2013.

The topic is locked and answers can only be submitted as per the rules below.

Rules:

Entry: One entry per person. Multiple entries will be excluded. All entries to be submitted to bignosemac by Personal Message (PM). Please title your Personal Message (PM) "Spring Into Summer Prize Quiz", then list your answers 1-25. Personal Messages (PM) can be sent by clicking on the speech bubble icon below bignosemac's profile picture or by using the forum's 'My Messages' button.

Closing Date: The last date for entries will be 11:59pm Sunday 30th June 2013. Entries after that time will not be accepted.

Eligibilty: The quiz is open to all registered members of the Great Western Passenger's Forum (aka Coffee Shop). The forum's Administrators and Moderators are not eligible to enter.

Answers: All images are of UK National Rail, heritage rail or metro/tram locations. Station locations must be named in full (i.e. Bristol would not be an acceptable answer when the image is of Bristol Parkway). Lineside locations can be answered with either details of the specific location or the full name of the nearest UK National Rail, heritage rail or metro/tram station/stop.

Winning Entry and Runners Up: The winning entry and runners up will be the ones having the most correct answers. A list of correct answers will be provided to the forum's Administrator/Moderator team prior to the closing date. In the event of any ties, the tied entries will each be assigned a number by bignosemac, and an Administrator will pick one of those numbers at random. The Administrator will not be informed of the forum name or avatar of the tied entries. More than one random draw may be required to decide the winner and runners up. Following completion of the quiz the list of correct answers and the forum names of the winner and runners up will be posted on the prize quiz thread.

Prizes: First prize will be a copy of All Change! by Paul Atterbury (http://www.waterstonesmarketplace.com/booksearch.detail?invid=11327601636&isbn=9780749557850&qsort=&page=1) (ISBN: 9780749557850) plus a ^10 Book Token. There are two runners up prizes of ^5 Book Tokens. The winner and runners up will be required to provide address details to bignosemac and the prizes will be forwarded by Recorded Signed For^ Royal Mail delivery. Prizes will be sent out on or after 2nd July 2013. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery. Address details supplied will not be published or stored and there is no requirement to provide your real name.

General: Outside of entry to the quiz and awarding of the prize, no correspondence will be entered into. The decisions of the Moderators and Administrators of this forum will be final. These General Terms and the Specific Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

There are some tricky ones in there .... I tried zooming in and looking at signs, and can let everyone know that one of the stations is called "Information" ...

I agree: I've had a good look, and I can't find any pictures of Nailsea & Backwell. :o

That may, or indeed may not, be a bit of a clue to anyone else (based on my abysmal past performance in identifying locations in such quiz topics).  ::)

I'm merely offering a gentle 'bump' for this topic here and now, in view of our recent server issues causing some perturbation to our normal Coffee Shop service.  ;)

How are you doing on the quiz?  We're more than half way through from setting the quiz to it closing.

If any of you put in answers early ... before we moved the server on 13th June ... your answers WILL have been transferred.

Anyone who put in an answer between 11:30 and 12:30 that day - please resubmit.

Anyone having trouble logging in to send your answers - please ask for a password reset to your email address.

I reckon I've got five, so far ...  :-[

Before I was elevated to the peerage ..er admin .. I did quite well in these quizzes and very much enjoyed researching them.  This one is the most challenging yet.

Do have a go - I found it gets very addictive.  Once you have cracked one picture you then go on to look at others and before you know it you've spent an enjoyable hour looking round the internet to confirm or disprove a theory.

Just a quick reminder that the closing date for entries is 23:59 on this Sunday (30th June).

However few you recognise, I'd strongly recommend you take a guess at every one, your photographic memory could be far better than you think!

..just to add the prize is well worth winning too!  All Change! by Paul Atterbury is an excellent book.  I have read/looked at it (not the actual copy being offered as a prize you understand!) and it is a good addition to any bookshelf.

Less than 24 hours to go.  If you've worked out some but are still pondering on the rest I'd have a few wild guesses an submit them - what have you got to lose!

I still reckon I would have got five, so far (although I'm ineligible to enter) - and, while I'm sure I recognize the rather dodgy-looking character who's reflection appears in image 7, I really can't work out where he was when he took that picture ...  ::)
