The man was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a train near Hinton Admiral station this morning. The main line between Southampton and Bournemouth was closed after the incident and buses were provided by South West Trains to take passengers between Brockenhurst and Bournemouth. A spokesman for British Transport Police said: ^BTP officers were called to the line close to Hinton Admiral Railway Station after a report that a man had been struck by a train. Officers from BTP and Dorset Police attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 10.27 hours and is currently being treated as non-suspicious. Medics from South Central Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.^ The train involved was not carrying passengers but was being moved from a depot to Bournemouth station. Officers handed back the line to South West Trains at 11.25am and a spokesman for the train company said services were running as normal from 1.30pm. A file is being prepared for the Coroner.
