Title: Weston Air Day
Post by: John R on May 21, 2013, 22:37:38
Saturday 22nd June, including the usual suspects, such as the Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, but the star of the show will be the Vulcan, in almost certainly it's last year of flight. If you've never seen it, and have any interest in aviation then do try and see the Vulcan this year, either at Weston, Fairford or Yeovilton.

I hope FGW are planning to strengthen services, as the council are anticipating 100,000 people flocking to Weston for the day.

Seeing a Vulcan in flight is certainly a sight to behold.

Many years ago I saw one at a RNAS Yeovilton Air Day. A low flypast of the airfield at what seemed an impossibly low speed was an awe inspiring sight. It certainly had me, about 10 years old at the time, marveling at the sight.

Details of the event from North Somerset Council:

And I've taken the liberty of adding the event to this forum's calendar.

What's this?  An air day in Weston?  Any helicopters involved by any chance?  Our very own North Somerset transport supremo (he of the Weston Helicopter Museum) surely cannot let an opportunity such as this pass by.

Other descriptions passed through my mind, but politeness prevailed.
