The train was helped into Salisbury by South West Trains staff after it was suspended for an hour. Police have today launched a hunt for those who threw the brick from a bridge near Romsey. It smashed through the glass of the front of the First Great Western train that was travelling from Portsmouth to Cardiff. The incident happened at East Grimstead on the Hampshire and Wiltshire border at about 5.30pm. The train was delayed for more than an hour while a doctor on board treated the driver. This morning British Transport police say they are looking for three youths in connection with the attack yesterday evening. Best wishes for a full recovery to the driver involved. The train window was repaired at St Philips. Of much greater importance is the driver - I hope he recovers quickly, and isn't put off his job by this disgusting act of hooliganism. I hope also that the culprits are called to account quickly.
