West Somerset Railway General Manager Paul Conibeare commented: "We are very pleased that our colleagues at First Great Western are able to offer this service once more which will give both visitors to the Mixed Traction Weekend and local residents an opportunity to travel over the section of line between the county town and our normal southern railhead and to see the completed works on the Norton Fitzwarren turning triangles more closely and at lower speeds than is possible when viewing them from the main line route. Tickets for these services can be purchased from the conductors on the trains themselves. Details of connecting services from and to stations along the WSR itself can be seen at www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk or obtained by calling 01643 704996.

I have seen the intriguing turning triangle from above, and may head down for a look at ground-level.

Many thanks for posting that item of news, Four Track, Now!  ;)

I've simply taken the liberty of also adding it to our calendar, to assist it in reaching the widest possible audience.  CfN.

I am obliged, Chris. I have been to one watched another from a small distance, and commend the event to the gathering! Despite having no connection with the WSR beyond admiration.

Watch out for marauding student cars hurtling down there from the overbridge!  (See recent collision there)
