Title: Western Alert! Post by: Western Enterprise on April 16, 2013, 11:18:16 I was stuck on a very slow 180 into PAD this morning, something announced about being stuck behind 2 slow trains from Slough. Lots of engineering works to look at, including the recent demolished signal box at Old Oak Common (when are they going to get rid of the old box at the end of Platform 9/10!), in preparation for Crossrail no doubt.
Anyway, passing OOC and I see a Maroon Western poking her nose out of the new FG shed. :) Not sure which one, but I guess she was there for an examination. I have seen 180's in that shed, is it there for Hydraulics? Title: Re: Western Alert! Post by: swrural on April 16, 2013, 11:42:56 Train spotter alert! ;D
BTW What does 'FG' mean please? It's not in the abbs. Title: Re: Western Alert! Post by: JayMac on April 16, 2013, 11:45:51 Possibly D1015 Western Champion, a regular visitor to OOC in recent months as she is prepared for her return to main line duty following the 'B' engine failure in June 2010. A full overhaul has been carried out over the last 3 years.
First main line tour following overhaul is due to be on April 27th from Tyseley to Bristol via Worcester as part of Vintage Trains' The Cornishman (http://www.tyseleylocoworks.co.uk/tours/tr_2013_0427.htm). I'm booked on that one! Title: Re: Western Alert! Post by: Western Enterprise on April 16, 2013, 12:56:09 Train spotter alert! ;D BTW What does 'FG' mean please? It's not in the abbs.
