Title: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: swlines on December 14, 2007, 20:14:44 Seeing as I'm having difficult keeping track with what trains are where, how many 150s/153s/158s does the western division of FGW have, and if possible, what numbers? (for the rolling stock pages on swlines).

Title: Re: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: vacman on December 14, 2007, 20:24:43 I think the 153's are as follows 305,318,329,361,368,369,370,372,373,377,380,382, 318 is supposed to be going to Northern but don't know if it's gone.
Title: Re: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: Conner on December 14, 2007, 20:54:50 I noticed a thread about 153 318 and is it still here. I had the misfortune of using it today. A scruffy red thing and even the passengers were complaining of its condition. It was on the 1244 from PLY arrived at PZ late and formed the 1450 back to PLY 11' 318 is still here as FarWest got on it today.down. I know they may seem like manna fro heaven for those using 142s but on a three hour journey? Title: Re: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: swlines on December 14, 2007, 23:53:14 Because the fleet doesn't shuffle around more than a pack of cards? :)

Sorry but most of the stuff down west is far better than a tinny turbo....class 150 any day Title: Re: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: devon_metro on December 15, 2007, 15:15:42 I have to say, FGW aren't doing badly. Even if it was a 142:
The 1030 PGN-EXM was 4 car The 1044 PGN-EXD (new service) was two car. Title: Re: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: Conner on December 15, 2007, 17:53:43 Must be better than a refurb'd HST though? No. They are the kind that offer back support so that means they have bits that poke out. Also a problem with the train in general was that it vibrated alot.Title: Re: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: vacman on December 15, 2007, 18:14:25 Must be better than a refurb'd HST though? Currently sitting in the upper crust at crewe station awaiting arriva trains to ludlow - been to visit dear mother in scouseland and had to suffer a pendolino from liverpool to crewe - the reason I go by train not car is travel sickness - and guess what - I get sick on a pendolino! Its the main reason I put up with the re-incarnation of Gods Worst Railway and don't go birmingham to Euston - the pendolinos are vomit heaven (and they smell) Title: Re: Current 'West' Operational Fleet Post by: Timmer on December 15, 2007, 19:27:26 Or a pendolino! all that tilting. Funny you should say that as I was on a pendolino today and someone was in the vestibule chucking up into buffet car paper bag and that was only just as the train was pulling out of Birmingham! Dear chap must have been quite poorly.Currently sitting in the upper crust at crewe station awaiting arriva trains to ludlow - been to visit dear mother in scouseland and had to suffer a pendolino from liverpool to crewe - the reason I go by train not car is travel sickness - and guess what - I get sick on a pendolino! An HST carriage seems a positive haven of peace compared to a Voyager...I'm sure they are noiser then being in a 158.
