Post by: trainer on April 02, 2013, 17:56:21 You're right swrural. It's amazing that such a non-event should make 'news'. The real story is that FGW provided all the pax with the promised ride home despite the problem of drivers' hours. Hooray for them! Sometimes it has taken me ten minutes to drive what normally takes 3. Perhaps I should write to The Times.
(Aside: Radio4 this very day broadcast the first of two programmes on what makes news - very worth a listen if you care!) Title: Re: disaster on Exeter to Paignton service (not)! Post by: Puffing Billy on April 02, 2013, 21:28:38 Hence my comment immediately below the article! Would be nice to have drivers at all major stations on permanent standby, but 15 minutes at that time of night to get hold of someone, do the paperwork etc. sounds fair enough to me.
Title: Re: disaster on Exeter to Paignton service (not)! Post by: swrural on April 02, 2013, 21:40:48 I expect she was disappointed they found a driver, hoping for a taxi instead. ::)

Fair comment indeed, Puffing Billy! ;) Title: Re: disaster on Exeter to Paignton service (not)! The decision by the E&E to post it though is questionable. Citizen journalism eh? Worse than the real thing. :P ;) ;D Title: Re: disaster on Exeter to Paignton service (not)!
