Train manager Emily Mahoney-Smith, who discovered the two year old moggy, took her on board and fed her tuna from a buffet sandwich. She then contacted the RSCPA and Polly was taken to the vets when the train reached its final stop in Penzance.

Good for her!  :)

There's also a video news report (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-21069298) from the BBC, which details Polly's journey:

Quote
A cat is recovering after stowing away in an express train and travelling 1,700 miles (2,735km) in two days.

Polly, from Plymouth, climbed into a compartment after she had been injured and ended up travelling between Penzance, Plymouth, Bristol, Swansea, Worcester, Oxford and London in "freezing" conditions.

She is being treated by a vet in Penzance is due to return to her retired train-driving owner in Plymouth via a cat-box soon.

You couldn't make up the fact that the cat belongs to a retired train driver could you?  This is Plymouth lists the complete diagram the cat travelled.  If no one posts it before me I will cut and paste it when I get home.

I'll save you the trouble http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Plymouth-cat-stuck-train-days-1-700-miles/story-17871862-detail/story.html

Now how about a little competition.  What's the cheapest price you could make the journey that the cat took?  Standard Class of course ;) ....and no 'rovers' allowed  :D ::) :P
