Post by: rogerw on January 14, 2013, 19:07:17 Is 8 Perth (the Dundee platforms)?
Title: Re: Travelling last September - but where? Post by: grahame on January 14, 2013, 19:12:27 Is 8 Perth (the Dundee platforms)? Yes, it is ... September was that mad month which we started with a trip to Portland, then recored for "Four in a Bed" in Crieff, Blackpool, Melksham and Worcester in that order. And I'm proud to say we covered most of the mileage by train. Title: Re: Travelling last September - but where? Stroud Indeed ... and that just leaves the name of the place in picture 7 ... correctly identified as the north end of the Forth Bridge; it's "North Queensferry" - the name that's also applied to the station at the north end of the bridge. Title: Re: Travelling last September - but where? Post by: grahame on January 15, 2013, 08:35:17 Complete journey those weeks ...
Melksham to Weymouth / Portland and back (by road; no suitable trains) Melksham - Cheltenham Spa - Birmingham New Street - Edinburgh Waverley - Perth. Perth - Stirling - Haymarket - Preston - Blackpool North. Blackpool North - Manchester Piccadilly - Cheltenham Spa - Melksham Melksham to Worcester and back (by road, no suitable trains) And if you've watched Four in a Bed on TV, you probably thought it was all done by road ;D - we're on Eplsodes 1 to 5 of the current series 4 ... if you missed it, links and watch again via http://www.channel4.com/programmes/four-in-a-bed/episode-guide/series-4 . I will be very interested to review my words about the Melksham Train service from a time before we knew we had achieved an improvement. Title: Re: Travelling last September - but where? (http://www.wellho.net/pix/4iabspinke2014.jpg) 392 visits in the day (graph above shows it hour by hour). Up from a maximum of 26 per day over the previous 4 weeks. The normal low volume of visitors is not necessarily a worry; if we're full some nights each week then we've got the balance roughly right.
