Title: Travel from Newton Abbot to Paddington w/b 1st April
Post by: warrej on January 11, 2013, 20:11:55
Hi All,

I am attempting to book a ticket from Newton Abbot to Paddington on 2nd April. There appears to be a much changed timetable that week, with a lot longer travelling times than normal.  I think it is just for this week, but before I go ahead and book could some knowledgeable soul let me know:

1) Reasons for the longer journey times?  I'm assuming engineering works and re-routed trains
2) Will there be a 0631 service from Newton Abbot?  This is not currently listed.

Thanks in advance
Jonathan

There is a closure of the line at Reading due to the station works there.

See http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/About-Us/Rail-improvements/Reading-station-improvements (http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/About-Us/Rail-improvements/Reading-station-improvements) for details.

Booking Tickets between 28 March - 08 April

Due to a temporary technical issue with our booking system, customers wishing to purchase tickets to/from the West of England between 28 March - 08 April should enter "London Waterloo" as their departing/arrival station.

This is owing to the Reading station improvement works during Easter.

The services listed are the services that will be running. There is only 1 train an hour throughout the day which means there is a reduced level of service running in the morning.
