Title: Timetabling error at Havant? Post by: Brucey on January 01, 2013, 15:24:09 Looking at Journeycheck for Havant station, there are two services booked to call at Platform 1 at 15:11 (both arriving at 15:10).
One is the FGW Great Malvern - Brighton, the other is a stopping Southern service to Brighton. Fortunately, the FGW called first. Are there any other cases where two services are booked into the same platform at the same time? Title: Re: Timetabling error at Havant? Post by: readytostart on January 01, 2013, 17:11:59 The usual departure time of the stopper is 1515 M-F, must have been re-timed for some reason today.

After chatting to the guard on my Southern train, it would appear that FGW are operating a Saturday service whilst Southern are operating a Sunday service. Apparently there have been quite a few clashes here and there today.Just another example of how a fragmented railway can cause confusion for customers. I just assumed all TOCs were running an amended Sunday service today. Title: Re: Timetabling error at Havant? Post by: Southern Stag on January 01, 2013, 19:29:41 The Southern service would normally operate via Eastleigh allowing the FGW service to overtake it. Instead they both ran the direct route, delay the FGW service. In the end the FGW looped the Southern service at Havant. FGW are generally operating a standard Monday-Friday service today, but with a late start up of service and a number of additional West Country-London services are also running.
Title: Re: Timetabling error at Havant? Post by: thetrout on January 01, 2013, 22:07:46 I assumed it was a Weekday/Saturday service in FGW land too. Well it certainly wasn't a Sunday one if you look at it like that.
The 23:20 Bristol Temple Meads - Frome train is booked to run tonight. Which it certainly does not do on a Sunday (Last Sunday Service is a 20:49 Weymouth I believe?) Incidentally First Avon & Somerset Bus Division were running a Sunday/Bank Holiday time table on Countrybound Services. Not sure what the inner city services were running one would hope a Sunday Timetable to prevent confusion. Faresaver Buses were also running their Sunday Timetable which is No Service at all. (They don't run any buses on Sundays) This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
