Title: Moorswater Park & Ride?
Post by: Umberleigh on December 21, 2012, 18:31:47
Sadly, the cement flow from Moorswater has ceased. The parent company has merged with Tarmac, and have re-based operations into Plymouth. So no more of this:

I understand that the cement will still be carried by rail, but from Tavistock Junction Yard. The excellent Taunton Trains website has some news on this:

However, I remember, in the not so distant past, the powers that be eyeing up Moorswater, as a potential site for a Looe Branch Park & Ride, given it has direct  access to the A38. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Without doubt, a P&R would make a significant positive impact on the Looe branch's passenger numbers, and also present capacity and timetabling hurdles, too..!

No apologies for bumping this, as the good news is that this freight flow has not been terminated, but rather awarded to DBS:

Anyone now if this is a temporary reprieve or something more permanent?
