Known locally as "Squirrel Junction", not in FGW land but not a million miles away from some of its south-eastern extremities...

You're in the right ball park with Woking and SWT land, but it's the country side of Woking...

Well that puts it between Basingstoke and Woking!

If it's Basingstoke London Side and the Reading / London Split part (you'd be stood next to the Down from Reading) that's cheating as FGW stop there! But it looks nothing like that junction sooooo... ;)

Well done, you are absolutely right with Ash Vale Junction, but I didn't know the box was supposed to be haunted :o

Ash Vale Junction is where the line from Ascot to Aldershot via Camberley and Frimley joins the Alton branch line, a little way south of Woking. The Alton branch leaves the Bournemouth main line at Pirbright Junction, whilst the Frimley line dives under the main line between Woking and Farnborough. FGW services certainly get quite close to Ash Vale Junc, but they don't actually use it: they duck under the Alton branch just before Ash Vale Junc and join the line to Guildford at Aldershot South Junc, just over half a mile away from Ash Vale.
