Title: Woman, 27, 'assaulted' on Swansea-Cardiff train, say police (24 November 2012) Post by: Chris from Nailsea on November 25, 2012, 13:39:07 From the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-20485259):
Quote A 43-year-old man has been arrested by police after a female train passenger suffered serious facial injuries in an alleged assault. Police are appealing for witnesses on the 19:43 GMT service from Cardiff to Swansea following the Wales v New Zealand rugby international at the Millennium Stadium earlier on Saturday. The 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital after arriving at Swansea and reported being punched several times. Police say the man is in custody. A spokesperson for British Transport Police (BTP) said the woman has been released from Swansea's Morriston Hospital after receiving treatment. He added: "The train, the 19:43 GMT service from Cardiff to Swansea, would have been busy with others who may have attended the Wales v New Zealand rugby international. Anyone who was on the train and witnessed the alleged assault is urged to contact BTP as a matter of urgency." Call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
